Onesie cupcake tutorial

What is it about baby showers that makes us want to turn baby gear into baked goods?

If you don’t have the time or energy to put together the full-blown diaper cake, a quick and easy alternative is a batch of adorable onesie and sock cupcakes. These take a few minutes each.

What you’ll need:

•    Onesie
•    Pair of socks
•    Cupcake liner

Step 1: Fold your onesie in half long-ways. Then fold over once more so it’s long and skinny. Fold the sleeves upward so they’re not sticking out.

Step 2:
Set one of your socks aside. Place the other one on top of your folded over sleeves, with just a teeny bit of the toe poking above the top edge of your onesie. Begin rolling tightly.

Step 3: Once you’ve got it rolled up, use one hand to hold it together and use your other hand to grab the remaining sock. Open the sock up and shove the rolled up cupcake inside. I pulled the sock up to about the middle of the cupcake.

The top elastic-y part holds it all together.

Step 4:
Place your cupcake inside of a cupcake liner, and tada! You’ve got a onesie sock cupcake. Decorate with accessories and place in a cupcake box or pan, or scatter them inside of a basket of baby goodies like I did:
